I think this picture really makes you consider how lucky we are to be where we are. This kid, probably around 13 years old, is actively fighting in a war he shouldn't even be involved in. It's powerful and in the moment.

Source: cnn Poster: Sydney A partially frozen American Falls in sub freezing temperatures is seen in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Ice always makes for beautiful pictures and this is no exception; it's taken on such a grand level
Source: TIME Poster: Ridah This picture is good simply because of the emotion on her face. We could do this style in our mug shots instead of cheesy smiles. I also like the black and white effect.
Source: NY Times/Damon Winter Poster: Olivia This photo is a great way of using the rule of thirds. The wall blocking out part of the right side makes the picture feel more personal and secluded.
Source: NY Times/Rod Nordland Poster: Olivia This photo is of a beautiful abandoned building somewhere lost in the world. It makes you wonder why someone would abandoned such a work of art. The picture makes the place look so serene and peaceful although it may have a haunting back story.
Source: NY Times Poster: Miles This picture captures an event you do not see often and in such an energetic way. This picture was taken on Feb. 5th on La Reunion.
Source: usatoday.com Poster: Sydney I love how this picture was taken. The woman in the picture, movie star Kim Novak, was blurred out just enough to draw attention to all of the men on the train staring at her.
Source: Time/Life Magazine Poster: Ariana I love the way that this picture draws attention up and down the center of the image. I find myself really moved by the way that the woman and the men saving her are "reaching out" to each other. I also find it really powerful how her dress catches the wall and appears to sort of suspend her on the ledge.
Source: nypost.com Poster: Spencer This photo is simply capturing an emotion and a perspective while keeping a key hand motion clear. We need to do this in our photos.
